Understand the difference between OEM, ODM and private label packaging, and which model fits importers in Southeast Asia, the Middle East and Latin America.
When importers brief a packaging factory, the first question is usually: OEM, ODM or private label? The choice changes who owns the design, the tooling and the risk.
You own the specification — dieline, artwork, materials — and the factory executes it. Best when you have in-house design or an agency. You keep full control of brand identity and IP.
The factory also designs the structure and suggests materials, finishes and inserts from production experience. Best when you want speed and lower development cost. Many brands use an ODM partner with real design engineering to reach market faster.
The factory’s existing standard structure is relabelled with your brand. Fastest and cheapest, but lowest differentiation. Common for commodities.
Under OEM the die is your asset. Under ODM the factory may hold it; agree ownership and exclusivity in writing. Either way, lock a QC and reorder SLA so volume scaling stays consistent.
We operate as both an OEM and ODM custom packaging manufacturer, with in-house design, structural engineering and global DDP shipping. Brief us your product and market and we will recommend the right model and a fixed quote. Browse our product range to see structures ready to customise.
